We have just noticed nearly 100 tiny tan coloured insects in our Beardies terrarium. They are much smaller than fleas and just crawl. Any ideas what they may be, and is there a safe way to eliminate them without hurting our beardie?

these could be mites, mites r very bad for ur reptile & u will need to clean them out completely, cleaning everything with cleaner u can buy from reptile shops. they also spread easily from cage to cage so if one tank ahs them all the other ones will have. They live under u animals scales & eventually lead to death to hurry up & get rid of them. u could do with taking ur animal to the vet & hell get rid of them fro u but make sure u ring ahead as they will want to be ready for mites coming in.
These can come from spoiled food or dirty cages. Take every thing out and scrub the tank down. Wash all furniture. If you have any wood branches, heat them in the oven to kill the bugs. Do not use sand or other loose substrates which not only hold in bacteria and parasites, but cause intestinal impactions.
mites
there are plenty sprays etc u can get for them from reptile pet stores
